The Cateye Ampp800 bike light uses the same FlexTight bracket as the Volt series lights and has a fixed direction of light. It has a wider beam and better visibility from the sides than the Volt800, but the Volt800 has a removable battery and a slightly narrower beam. The light is water-resistant and made in China. It does not interfere with the Cateye Padrone wireless computer. Reviews suggest that the light is bright, durable, and easy to install, although it can get hot on the highest brightness setting and may interfere with some bike computers. The battery life is not as long as claimed, but the low battery indicator is useful. The light cannot be used while being charged, which may be a problem for long nighttime rides.
