Each cover has steam vents and a stay-cool handle. The hexagon design is created through a laser etching process to provide both stainless steel and a nonstick surface. This dual surface allows your nonstick pan to still sear while using less oil, grease, and butter. Durable cooking pans built to last require tri-ply construction. The first and third layer is stainless steel for sturdy nonstick features, while aluminum in between conducts consistent, even heat distribution. HexClad Cookware lids are made from high-quality tempered glass, which is highly resistant to cracks and breakage, and safe up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
