Simposh Mandolines SP15C Editorial Review
The Easy V Mandolin Slicer has garnered mixed reviews from customers, reflecting both strong satisfaction and significant concerns. Many users appreciate the product’s effective slicing capabilities, particularly praising its “V” blade design which results in cleaner, more precise cuts. The slicer offers adjustable thickness options — thin and thick — that most find sufficient for their culinary needs, and its ability to julienne has also been highlighted, even if some users have yet to fully utilize this feature. Safety is another standout aspect; the mandolin comes equipped with a hand protector that many users describe as effective. The plastic container that attaches to the unit for catching slices was frequently commended for its practicality, eliminating the need for additional bowls or plates while maintaining an organized workspace. Furthermore, the inclusion of safe storage for the slicing inserts is seen as both innovative and user-friendly. However, not all feedback is positive. Some users have reported issues with the sharpness of the main and additional blades, stating that they struggle to achieve the desired cuts, particularly with harder vegetables like carrots. Additionally, there seems to be confusion regarding the blade thicknesses, as users aiming for thicker cuts like French fries found the thickest setting insufficient. There were also reports of the food holder not adequately gripping some vegetables, which raised safety concerns among a few customers. A lack of detailed instructions was another point of contention, with some users pointing out that clearer guidelines would enhance overall usability and safety. Despite the variations in experience, many customers are confident in recommending the Easy V Mandolin Slicer for its blend of safety, practicality, and effective slicing performance — though potential buyers should be mindful of its limitations based on individual cooking needs. **
