The keys are unique, and there are 1,000 possible combinations that are sold randomly although the box needs to be registered for key information retrieval in case of loss. The mailbox doesn't come with an adaptor plate, but it can be mounted virtually on any mounting configuration. The mailbox is sturdy and easily accessible, but the door does not close automatically nor is it spring-loaded to keep it closed so it will remain open unless closed.
