The Performance Tool W38170 38" Dr 9/16" Spark Plug Socket is a highly recommended tool for taking out and putting in spark plugs. It works well for cars with a tight spark plug hole like the Nissan GT-R. The socket has a rubber grip on the inside, but it's not magnetic. Even so, for its price, it works well. One customer changed eight stubborn, 100,000-mile-old spark plugs with no problem at all. Another customer used this socket instead of a more expensive tool needed to change lower shift cables on Mercruiser Alpha One outdrives. They found that it worked perfectly with a 5/8 deep well socket on the back. The rubber piece that grabs the spark plug sometimes falls off, according to one review, but the lifetime warranty should cover any issues. Overall, the Performance Tool W38170 38" Dr 9/16" Spark Plug Socket is a valuable tool for any mechanic or DIYer.
