It is not the best for pastel paper and does not have a 400 grit tooth. The grooved texture makes the paper sturdier but requires more product. Reviews on this product vary. Some customers found the paper good for pastels and saw a large difference when using pastels, while others found it thin with very little tooth making it difficult to lay down pigment. Some customers received their paper damaged or warped and others did not like the colors.
